Alen is a TU Dublin alumnus, having earned a BSc in Retail and Services Management and an MA in Public Relations. Alen's career experience is in Visual Merchandising and he became exposed to public relations through his time at Virgin Media Television working for the press office.


Alen’s career interest areas are in marketing, communications and public relations, and in particular is eager to work for fashion and retail brands and anything pop culture related. Alen is more interested in in-house work than agency.

Dissertation Topic and Overview:  


Alen’s dissertation is a study into the use of emoji as a communication tool among Millennials and how they can be utilised in a brand’s integrated marketing communications. The study seeks to examine the phenomenon of emoji, and how they can be used beyond the parameters of personal communication.
