'Only in Ireland is conversation a competitive sport'

PR practitioner, author and lecturer Andy Green challenged notions of public relations in the latest – the third - of his Dublin Conversations, proudly hosted by the MAPR in TU Dublin Aungier St in July.

Having already produced the Dublin Definitions of PR, an ambitious grassroots effort to find better sense of our environment and to evolve communications practice, the latest Conversation guided attendees along a practical path  with a ‘Journey from Dublin’ toolkit to use in everyday PR and communications work.

Andy was joined by Padraig McKeon, president of the Public Relations Institute of Ireland, in outlining how, at heart, the Conversations lead to tools that make it easier and quicker to create more powerful and comprehensive briefs for communications and public relations activities.  With a focus on earned trust, they identified five key pathways that lead to more flexible, agile and purposeful for communications and PR strategies and activities.

Attended by senior practitioners in Irish communications, the Conversation proved Andy’s perceptive line – ‘only in Ireland is conversation a competitive sport.’
